A magnificent Mahogany Maison Krieger Dining suite in the French Empire style, C 1900, comprising a large extending dining table, an Escalette Marble toppped Buffet adorned with Gilt Bronze mounts, eight dining chairs, four Lyre back side chairs and two large Fauteuils all in matching upholstery. ( There are also two matching consoles not included in this sale, but available as an addition). the extending dining table takes up to five extra leaves and extends to a maximum of 408cm.

Maison Kreiger was a large and important producer of furniture in 19th Century in Paris. It was founded in 1826 by Antoine Krieger, and remained a family business until the early 20th Century. It rose to prominence when winning awards at the 1849 Exposition des Produits de l'Industrie in Paris and the Exposition Universelle of 1851 in London, for the quality of its furnishings.
By the late 19th Century Maison Krieger was one of the largest producers of furniture in Paris, with a large factory based at Faubourg St. Antoine, and counting Francois Linke among their clients.
